Savannah’s film scoring palette draws on her love of organic soundscapes combined with electronics, both incorporating and disrupting the use of classical elements. She is inspired by stories, psychology, the natural environment and stretching what is possible with sound, space and perception. Her first aha! film score moment came upon hearing Thomas Newman’s score to American Beauty. His restraint and specific tonal choices opened her imagination to what was possible with the psychological interplay between film scores and film. Other impactful composers on her perspective include Johnny Greenwood, Hildur Gudnadottir, Nick Cave and Warren Ellis, Gabriel Yared and Jherek Bischoff.
